Throughout the year, as we curate our selection of vintage for the store, we sometimes come across things that are damaged, but still amazing. Or, while laundering and repairing items, we decided that too much work needs to be put into a garment to get it fully up to snuff to make it to the sales floor. All of these items get saved for a blow-out, garage sale type event behind the shop, the Back Alley Bazaar! We'll be joined by some of our favorite vintage sellers, with stuff that's "Not Perfect, but Still Dang Cute!"

For the inaugural Northeast Vintage Block Party, we had a blast with our friends and neighbors in a vintage market event. In the large lot behind the historic buildings that house Moth Oddities, Olio Vintage, The Golden Pearl Vintage and Twelve Vultures, there was a slew of guest vendors, food and drinks by Gardens of Salonica, tunes by DJ Jake Ryan and hand-drawn portraits by Matthew D'Ascenzo.

This annual market is in its second year of highlighting and celebrating the best of vintage clothing, jewelry, accessories and textiles from the 1800s - 1970s.Â
We showcased our wares alongside 40+ vendors. Many of the pieces that we bring to this show haven't been available in our storefront. Some unique and delicate antiques have been stored and awaiting the right collector, while other pieces were new to us and sourced specifically for this show!

For our 7 year anniversary, we transformed the shop into a lush, verdant paradise, poured fanciful cocktails and danced to the live bossa nova music of The Buffalo Function Music Band!
After pausing our celebrations for a couple of years, we brought back our birthday party complete with the crowning of a new Pearl Girl!! The attendee that is voted best dressed received a fabulous prize, the prestige of the Pearl Girl title, and a year long discount!

We looked to the early 1960's for inspiration for a cocktail party. No outfit in the 60's was complete without complementing headwear, so we invited out friends at Karen Morris Millinery for a trunk show of her fabulous hats!Â
Our decorations and libations were also straight outta the 60's, with a ridiculous amount of Jello molds and gin punch.

Our second birthday bash had a "Riviera" theme. We became millionaires for the evening, glamorously dressed for an evening of luxurious lounging and a decadent dance party. With fashion illustrations from Claire Ward, catering from Tori 44, and tunes from DJ Superbrush427, we had a blast and crowned our second Pearl Girl!

Atmospheric vibes of live opera, baroque and lush styles brought us to another world. Our very own Audra and Darling Amelia also modeled in the show!Â

For our first anniversary, we pulled out all the stops to celebrate YOU, our customers. We had performances by MAX of RuPaul's Drag Race, music by French electronic artist Monsieur Adi, fashion illustrations by Claire Ward, food by Drew Thomas Catering and sweet treats by Glam Doll Donuts! We also asked guests to Show us how they integrated your Golden Pearl Vintage finds with your their fabulous style for a chance to win best dressed in our PEARL PAGEANT!
Opening Day!

We opened our doors to the public in January of 2016, after 5 months of preparation. We had torn out a dropped ceiling and refurbished the building's original tin ceiling. We tore up layers of carpet and glue to expose the original hardwood floors. We build dressing rooms, display columns, a window display area, painted everything, and brought in all of the carefully curated pieces that Audra had been collecting for 6 months. The result was the bright, calm welcoming space that you see today.
